News revelations about celebrities can be very frustrating especially if it is about celebrity we alike a lot. At the extremes this can lead to a para-social breakup. Fans feel like they know a celebrity like he or she was their friend (para-social relationship) - when this celebrity does something that clashes with their values this can lead to a strong emotional reaction just as in a physical relationship.
COPING
We started by addressing the common stages people go through in a breakup from mourning to anger: suggesting near by pubs for a drink, ice cream deals for comfort food or just ways to express anger
SHARED GRIEF
We realized that this grieving process we were trying to address was different from private grief in that it was shared by many people globally.
CELEBRITY DUMPSTER SOCIAL APP
We put en emphasis on giving our users feedback that let them feel part of a bigger community. We gave more options of sharing users' reactions with each other and connected to media apps enabling users to block or increase media related to the relevant celebrity.
